Rain gardens can collect rainwater, keeping rainwater out of streets and basements. Rain gardens in the city right of way are between the sidewalk and the street, which can increase property value and improve curb appeal. Rain gardens use native plants that require little watering once established, and will attract pollinators such as hummingbirds and butterflies.
This survey is being conducted by University of Illinois Extension. Your answers will help us understand preferences of homeowners and others about where to place rain gardens. Results of this survey will be published on a new Extension Rainwater Management website and shared with communities interested in establishing rain gardens.
